ANAEROBIC CULTURE JAR

The anaerobic jar allows bacterial cultures to be grown in oxygen-free conditions. The bacteria on petri dishes are sealed in the jar with the gas generating kit, low temperature catalyst and anaerobic indicator. These then generate a hydrogen and carbon dioxide atmosphere which is shown by the indicator paper. Modified Macintosh and Fildes pattern has all metal construction consisting of S.S. Jar with a top flange recessed for a toroidal rubber sealing ring and a cover held in place by a strong bridge clamp. The cover is fitted with two needle valves for evacuation and a sachet containing a catalyst. A side arm on the jar is provided for connecting to Semi-Solid Lucas Indicator. (The unit is supplied without semi-solid indicator). supplied complete with pressure-cum vacuum gauge.
